Statue of St. Wenceslas on His Square - Prague (April 2004)


The square is called Václavák by natives of Prague. It is the cultural center of the city, and the most commonly used rendezvous point for groups of friends or couples.
"Where should we meet?"
"Under the tail."
This refers to the tail of Vaclav's horse.

This square was also the center of the Velvet Revolution of 1989, and a picture of that mass gathering of people can be seen here

Quite a few scenes in The Bourne Identity were shot in Prague and called Zurich. Most American films shot on location in Europe these days use Prague to represent at least one city. Some more than that...
