Flying Tent - Huckleberry Nob, North Carolina (Summer 2001)

This abstract photo was taken on a backpacking trip to Huckleberry Nob, which is a bald on top of one of the highest mountains on the Tennessee/North Carolina border. On clear days, there is a 360 degree view looking down on the surrounding mountains. It was windy, and somewhere in the process of taking the tents down one of my friends decided to see how far a tent would fly under the then-current conditions. What makes this picture interesting to me is the odd position of his arms after releasing the tent.
