i REALLY like this photo. it looks great up close (enlarged) too. even better, i think.

on a related topic: i wanted to get your suggestions on something. i want to get back into blackandwhites when i get back to the States. i want to do some kind of abstract stuff... my original thought was getting into early cameras, especially early large-format (but that's too expensive, i guess). i want to take pictures that look really "bad". i could always just push the film and abuse my negatives, but i also think it would be better to find the right camera/lens. i guess i'm just interested in your thoughts on what's a good way to take primitive pictures without spending tons of money on antique gear?

Digital camera and photoshop! If you are just looking for results and not worried about purity in the process you can come up with some pretty realistic looking stuff.

thanks for the help Marty. can't wait to get together and try out your 120 this summer. it'll be nice to get back in the darkroom. i'm still wondering if building a pin-hole wouldn't even be better for the results i want. i just my stuff to look like total crap! like 1855.
