Poppy - UC-Riverside Botanical Gardens, California (May 2006)

Well, if one wishes to take pictures of flowers, one goes to where the flowers are, and in Southern California, there are plenty in botanical gardens. The garden on the campus of the University of California - Riverside is surprisingly nice considering it is in Riverside. It's as if one has escaped from the Inland Empire once he/she sets foot in that 40-acre shangri-la. Bonus points to the first person to tell me, from memory (without help from google), what book shangri-la originates from and who the author was. If you can also name the famous pianist who was found there, you get double bonus points.

The book was Lost Horizon by James Hilton. Also a pretty decent movie starring Jane Wyatt.
