All Are Precious - Prague (April 2004)


This homeless man was kneeling with a cup in his hand under the tower on the western end of the Charles Bridge. I'm sure he was a regular visitor to that spot. The homeless people in Prague have to pay the mafia for the rights to beg in certain spots if they don't wish to be beaten. It's quite pathetic, when you think about it. The mafia sinks to the extortion of money from homeless people. I'd think they'd find more profitable ways to spend their time.

At any rate, I took this picture and then dropped a 20Kc coin into his cup. I hope it paid his dues.

I thought Mafia that controlled beggars was active in my country only but i guess i was wrong.
How do you manage these effects in your pictures?

I think the mafia probably stoops to such a thing in whatever countries it exists.

I do some photo editing in adobe photoshop, but most of my photo corrections are done in a free program from google that you can download here:

Oh, there's far far more to the "no side jobs" policy than a little begging. It's another profession confidentiality issue though...
