Old-looking Photo - California (April 2006)

For Tim

This is an example of what can be done in photoshop if you want to make a photo look like it was taken in 1855. Of course, the subject matter here wasn't around in 1855, but the picture looks old enough. I could have done a better job with it if I had spent a little more time, but you get the idea. This took 3 minutes, whereas a pinhole camera would take quite a bit longer. Granted, the results may be more satisfying with a pinhole than with this; there is something aesthetic about that whole method.

thanks marty for a personalized post! wow. sometimes i feel like going to all these blogs is like taking little extra-credit classes... learning extra bits of wisdom. well, if this is class, then a personalized post is like getting a gold star from the teacher!

(so, it would be interesting to see this same shot with a pin-hole camera... to see if my little project would have any worth at all).
