Rock Face in the Alps - Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland (July 2003)

This is looking up the valley from Lauterbrunnen. If a person goes to Switzerland and doesn't make it to this area, then there's not much that can be said for them. It takes between 20 and 30 minutes, maybe even less, to ride the train here from Interlaken. This is one of the most scenic valleys in the world, and that's about all I have to say about that.

isn't it from this face that a waterfall comes spouting out like a thin ribbon, falling hundreds of meters to the valley below? i remember it somewhere in this area.

You're right, there is a waterfall very close to this. I don't recall if it is around the corner from that point, or if was directly to the right of me as I was taking the photo.
